Nimble Radio

An advanced transceiver for extremely small, low-cost robotics

Nimble Radios provide resilient connectivity for drones and robotic platforms that encounter significant environmental or situational RF interference.

What are Nimble Radios?

The Nimble Radio is a new class of industrial transceiver designed specifically for robotics platforms.

Low Cost

Enterprise pricing to support scaling up robotics fleets to the hundreds and thousands of systems.

Low SWaP

A tiny footprint and weighing just 12 grams, capable of supporting any size robotics platform; even the smallest enterprise drones.

High Performance

Ultra-low latency datalinks with advanced interference avoidance for more resilient performance over 10 kilometers.

How do Nimble Radios Work?

Nimble Radios are designed to be paired with supported companion compute platforms, embedded with intelligent flight controllers or integrated in ground robotics platforms.

The result is a powerful, scalable solution for resilient long-range robotic connectivity in challenging and congested environments.

What are Nimble Radios for?

Enterprise Drones

Nimble Radios support high-performance, low-cost drone platforms in any use-case:

  • Defense: Low-cost, attritable drones and FPVs
  • Public Safety: Drone-as-first-responder (DFR)
  • Commercial: Inspection, delivery

Ground Robots

Nimble Radios support advanced robots in challenging environments with reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity at scale.

  • Defense: Indoor/outdoor quadrupeds
  • Warehouse: AMRs
  • Delivery: UGVs

Benefits of Nimble Radios

Nimble Radios address issues of traditional commodity transceivers like limited range and interference-related performance degradation in congested environments by providing advanced software features run on a platform’s companion computer. This unlocks advanced functionality like:

Frequency flexibility: Nimble Radios support 2.4 GHz and 5.x GHz; a total of 717 MHz spectrum, with 140 non-overlapping channels from which to choose to avoid interference

Advanced interference-avoidance / Anti-jamming: Integrated with Sense, our advanced frequency agility technology, for optimal performance in noisy and adverse environments

Channel optionality: Ability to choose 5, 10, 20 or 40 MHz channel BW to match performance requirements; Smaller channels provide lower throughput, but longer range

Long range: Field-proven up to 10km

Low-latency: The Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Channel (URLLC) segregates video data from C&C signal, ensuring low latency, unbrokenvvideo feed and seamless robotic operation

Fast roaming: Collision-avoidance for fast-moving ground robotics, like AMRs or quadrupeds

Nimble Radio Release Details

Nimble Radio will be available in September in two hardware variants, 2×2 MIMO and 3×3 MIMO transceiver supported on the x86 platform. Pre-orders are open now.
