Introducing Boost: Extending Range and Resilience for Drone Communications

Introducing Boost: Extending Range and Resilience for Drone Communications

As drone systems continue to evolve, so do the environments they operate in.

Today’s deployments aren’t just about achieving range in ideal conditions—they’re about maintaining performance in contested, congested, and unpredictable RF environments.

At Doodle Labs, we’ve spent years building radios that deliver exactly that. Our current platform is already enabling customers to deploy drone systems over 65km in contested environments, with proven performance in real-world conditions.

But we also know that in the most challenging scenarios—extreme jamming, difficult terrain, or extended mission distances—power still matters.

That’s where Boost comes in.

A More Advantageous Band for Modern Operations

One of the most effective ways to improve link survivability isn’t just increasing power—it’s operating in the right part of the spectrum.

C-Band offers a meaningful tactical advantage:

  • Less congested than traditional drone frequencies
  • Fewer jammers targeting the band
  • Less mature jamming technologies operating within it

With expanded spectrum access, operators can move away from heavily contested bands and into cleaner operating environments—improving both reliability and mission success.

This aligns with a broader shift in electronic warfare, where success is no longer about overpowering interference, but about maintaining the links that matter.

Increasing Power Where It Matters

While our radios already deliver exceptional performance, certain missions demand more.

Long-range operations, dense RF environments, and advanced drone systems all benefit from additional link budget.

Boost is our purpose-built bi-directional amplifier (BDA) designed to:

  • Extend operational range
  • Improve link resilience under heavy jamming
  • Push through environmental and RF obstacles

We’ve already demonstrated performance out to 330km using third-party amplifiers alongside our radios.

But those solutions came with trade-offs.

Built Specifically for Drone Systems

Existing BDAs on the market weren’t designed with drone platforms in mind.

They often fall short on:

  • Size and weight constraints (SWaP)
  • Cost for scaled deployments
  • Availability and supply chain reliability

So we built our own.

Boost is designed specifically for drone OEMs and operators who need:

  • Compact, SWaP-optimized integration
  • Price points that scale across fleets and swarms
  • Reliable availability in weeks—not months

Because performance doesn’t matter if you can’t deploy at scale.

Designed for the Next Wave of Drone Systems

Programs like Drone Dominance are accelerating the shift toward digital FPVs and smaller, more distributed systems.

These platforms still need to maintain reliable connectivity at 10+ km and beyond, often in contested environments.

Boost works alongside our radios to ensure those links remain intact—whether the challenge is range, interference, or both.

It’s part of a broader approach to supporting every class of drone system, from small tactical platforms to long-range autonomous systems.

Expanding the Doodle Labs Portfolio

Doodle Labs has always focused on one thing: delivering connectivity that works in the real world.

From advanced electronic warfare capabilities to highly integrated radio systems, we continue to evolve our platform to meet the growing demands of drone communications.

Boost is the next step in that evolution—closing the power gap while maintaining the same focus on performance, scalability, and deployment readiness.

More power. Better spectrum. Stronger links.

Boost is built to ensure your mission doesn’t stop when conditions get tough.
