5 Gbps Wireless Communication System
A tier-1 telecommunications company in Japan was looking for ways to study the Broadband transmission characteristics of the 4 .5 GHz band. They also wanted to evaluate the possibilities and alternatives for the next generation of cellular phone communications after 5G (‘6G’). Their objective was to use 500 MHz of contiguous frequency in the 4 GHz band to achieve maximum data transmission rate at a 100 meter range. Doodle Labs’ team leveraged the high data rates of IEEE 802.11ac technology for this project. 12 channels (each 40 MHz wide) were frequency shifted and bonded together to achieve a very fast wireless transmission system. The system far exceeded the customer’s data throughput expectations.
A leading defense contractor needed the ability to band shift the 2×2 LTE service and switch to multiple private bands to avoid the interference. The system had to meet very stringent SWaP requirements. Doodle Labs LTE Band shifters are used to achieve this complex requirement. The system can switch the LTE service across a very wide range from sub-GHz frequencies up to 6 GHz.
LTE-TDD in 3.5 GHz CBRS Band
Prior to FCC releasing the 3.5 GHz band as Citizen’s Band Radio Service (CBRS), a leading LTE equipment manufacturer needed to complete field trials and demonstrate its co-existence in this shared spectrum. Doodle Labs developed a 2×2:2 MIMO eFES (Front-End Subsystem) to attach to the customer’s existing LTE small cell (2.5 GHz, Band 41) and transpose the wireless signals to their target band.
