PDW recently announced that its C100 sUAS platform has received approval for Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)’s Blue UAS program.

The C100 employs Doodle Labs’ Helix Mesh Rider Radio as its on-board datalink, providing industry-leading connectivity and performance in EW-contested and near-peer theaters.

“We are tremendously proud to announce the C100 platform’s inclusion on the Blue UAS list,” said PDW CEO and Co-Founder Ryan Gury in an online statement. “PDW is firmly committed to DIU’s mission of delivering secured technology for our operators and the addition of the C100 to the Blue UAS list represents a trusted, secure, and stable platform, giving our customers assurance when they need it most.”

The PDW C100 platform is an industry-leading sUAS developed specifically for the DoD, enabling features previously only available on larger fixed-wing assets to be launched organically by a single soldier. The drone is built around a modular open architecture and offers a wide range of advanced mission capabilities, including targeting and identification, signals intelligence, direct effects, and payload/supply delivery. The platform fits into a rucksack and supports many integrations with leading sensors, payloads, and novel technologies.

Doodle Labs’ Helix Mesh Rider Radio makes use of proprietary multi-band technology to cover a range of licensed radio frequencies used by groups in the US DoD in a single radio, from M1 to M6.   The radio’s mini-OEM form factor is extremely low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) and boasts FIPS 140-3-certified encryption, both of which are crucial for tactical military missions.

Doodle Labs’ growing Blue UAS reach

PDW’s inclusion on the Blue UAS cleared drone list marks another notch in the growing tally of Doodle Labs’ connections to and influence within the program.

Doodle Labs’ Helix Mesh Rider Radio was developed with sponsorship from the US Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) specifically to fulfill the needs of the Blue UAS program.

Last year, fellow Blue UAS program member Teal Drones announced the Helix Mesh Rider Radio as the on-board datalink for the company’s sUAS prototype for the U.S. Army’s Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) program.

Doodle Labs also directly integrates with other Blue UAS-cleared components from partners like ModalAIAuterion and UXV.
